Functional Movement Screen

The Functional Movement Screen (FMS) is an observation and ranking system that measures how well you can perform a series of key movement patterns. The test is tied to a set of proven corrective exercises to help correct any asymetries or limitations discovered during your assessment. A scoring system is used to ensure accurate documentation and track progress.

At one Human Performance Center, our trainers use FMS to demonstrate if athletes who have elite strength, power, speed, agility, and sport skills have fundamental flaws that do not show up on a stat sheet. These types of limitations lead to poor efficiency, potential for injury and decreased performance. Our trainers will administer the required tests and then evaluate the results and incorporate them into clients' training program to overcome any issues that come to light.

These techniques can be used for athletes at all levels. We have been employing FMS with the current NFL champs for over a year, and -- while it would be presumptuous to say it made all the difference -- we did get asked back this season! Check out this video of Eric and Jay working with the team.
